Bio
Judith Fuhrman is a licensed speech-language pathologist with varied therapeutic experience including rehabilitative, clinical, itinerant, and classroom settings. Her expertise is in high order language function and its relationship to literacy. Ms. Fuhrman has presented at state, national, and international conferences, including the U.S. Department of Education’s National Comprehensive Literacy Institute, The European Conference on Literacy, and the Reading Association of Ireland. She currently works as a Staff Development Specialist for reading and writing intervention, preschool to high school, in Riverside, California.

 

Description:
Take a fascinating journey through the history of the English language and uncover its morphophonemic secrets.  Delve into Anglo-Saxon endings, Latin roots, Greek combining forms, and other intriguing linguistic features. In this session, you will explore the underlying structures of English and practice applying a clear, consistent method for word analysis. By the end of our time together, you will have a newfound appreciation of our Mother Tongue and lessons that you can apply immediately to your teaching.
