Decoding Dyslexia California, a grassroots movement driven by concerned families, has worked with Assembly Member Jim Frazier to introduce a bill on dyslexia in the California legislature. You can view AB1369 here. This bill, which uses the term “dyslexia” and calls for improvements in teacher training, screening, and services for children with dyslexia, is an important achievement. Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity to raise awareness within the legislature about dyslexia, whether or not you agree with the specific language in this bill. You can view the recommended changes to the bill here.

See Decoding Dyslexia’s link  for ways you can become involved.

Never Give Up
More than one in ten children in the US struggle with dyslexia or other language based learning difference.
Without appropriate intervention, struggling readers have a higher probability of not completing high school.
Their dreams are dashed. Their opportunities are diminished. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Literacy

Literacy is one of the most important issues facing us today. Dyslexics can thrive if we all take advantage of neuroplasticity (the brain differences among us).  TCB strives to share with teachers and parents how they can hop on this train through our webinars, conferences, and other programs.  Einstein said, "Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its life believing it is stupid!"
