Bio
Andrew Stetkevich, M.A. is a staff development specialist for the Riverside Unified School District. Mr. Stetkevich has over 33 years of experience in the field of special education. He is a past-president of his local IDA Branch. Mr. Stetkevich has presented at the national and international level in the area of literacy, including presentations for the British Dyslexia Association and the European Literacy Conference. He is nationally endorsed consultant for Project Read. Mr. Stetkevich is married and has three children.

Bio
Judith Fuhrman is a licensed speech-language pathologist with varied therapeutic experience including rehabilitative, clinical, itinerant, and classroom settings. Her expertise is in high order language function and its relationship to literacy. Ms. Fuhrman has presented at state, national, and international conferences, including the U.S. Department of Education’s National Comprehensive Literacy Institute, The European Conference on Literacy, and the Reading Association of Ireland. She currently works as a Staff Development Specialist for reading and writing intervention, preschool to high school, in Riverside, California.

Universal Design for Learning Principles apply to all learners. The principles of multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression ensure that all learners reach their academic potential.  Explore these principles to reduce barriers to learning for individuals with dyslexia.  This interactive presentation will enable you to experience UDL principles while acquiring strategies for use at home and at school. Universal Design for Learning is applicable from Pre-School through Adult Education/College.

  • Analyze how to incorporate UDL principles, and
  • Identify specific strategies that will address the learning needs of individuals with dyslexia
